RETURN TO PARADISE RESORT TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY

Due to the unprecedented world situation of Covid-19, we are sad to report that Return to Paradise Resort has temporarily closed to guests until further notice. This has meant we have had to give 100 of our 130 staff extended leave, and potentially more in the future.

The Resort still has a skeleton staff and will respond to all phone calls and booking requests as priority. Due to the uncertain dates for the future, the resort will allow any bookings made to be postponed for up to two years without penalty, and if you already have bookings with us, we do ask where possible to consider amendments rather than cancellations, which would be helpful to our resort and to our people.

“This is still a beautiful place to plan your future holiday, wedding, family reunion or conference and we look forward to welcoming you back after this time of world turmoil has passed,” says Resort Assistant General Manager Melanie Toailoa. “We are incredibly proud of our family of staff and the way they have accepted and embraced what we need to do. Even the ones we have had to stand down say their focus is on our family being ready to welcome you back one day when this is over.”

Return to Paradise Resort will deliver weekly food parcels for the families of all the workers who had to be put on temporary leave. “This has been heartbreaking for us,” says Resort Matriarch Ramona Su’aPale; “At this stage, there is no confirmed assistance for our industry here in Samoa and most of our staff are the sole breadwinners for their families, so we will continue to try to feed all our staff families for as long as we can. And remember, whatever you must do today – remember to be kind – we are all affected by this in one way or another.”
