Turtles come back to Return To Paradise Resort

hawksbillTo the delight of the guests, the endangered Hawksbill Turtles have come back to Return to Paradise Resort this year. Over the last few weeks, some large hawksbill sea turtles came to visit Return to Paradise Resort.

Many swam around the lagoon close to the Rock Pool Bar which gave guests a front row seat from the Rock Pool Bar decks. And just like last year, several turtles waddled up on the beach had laid their eggs at night.

In 2016 for the first time in several years, the turtles had returned to the beach and 75 baby turtles hatched.

Again this year, the nesting area is the same as last year – in front of the Resort villas. So a small patch of the beach has now been roped off to allow the eggs to hatch in peace.

“The turtles delighted everyone at the Resort last year this year,” says Director Ramona Su’a Pale; “we protect our precious natural environment – we have a very rich coral garden right in front of the Resort and it is just wonderful to see the turtles back nesting. Watch this space….”
